Information on data processing

We at ChemServe GmbH have taken technical and organisational measures to ensure that the regulations on data protection are observed both by us and by external service providers. In the following we inform you about the data processing within the scope of the purchase and use of Dr. Verwey’s Tank Cleaning Guide.

1. Name and address of the person responsible

ChemServe GmbH
Hubertuskamp 8
21521 Dassendorf
Phone +49 711 219 59 48 0
e-mail support@chemserve-marine.com

2. Subject of data protection

The subject of data protection is personal data. According to Art. 4 No. 1 DSGVO / GDPR, this is all information relating to an identified or identifiable person. This includes, for example, information such as name, e-mail address or telephone number, but also usage data such as the IP address.

3. Scope and purpose of data processing and storage

In the following, we clarify the scope of data collection, storage and use (hereinafter referred to as “data processing”, used within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 2 DSGVO / GDPR) and the purpose of the respective data processing within the framework of our web shop.

4. Data processing within the framework of the webshop

In principle, it is possible to view the web shop without providing personal data. An exception to this is the IP address, which we require at short notice (see also the following section).

4.1 IP addresses

Web servers and terminal devices actually need the IP address as an address. Only in this way does the web server know to which device it can transmit the page you have called up. Consequently, the web server must process your IP address at the moment of the data request.

The legal basis for this data processing is regularly Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO / GDPR, as we need your IP address in order to be able to send you the website and the information it contains.

The IP address is saved for 24 hours. This gives us the opportunity to analyse attacks on the shop or the server and take appropriate measures. In this case, data processing is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO / GDPR.

4.2 Cookies

Our webshop uses cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored in the Internet browser or by the Internet browser on the user’s terminal device. If a user calls up a website, a cookie can be stored on the user’s operating system.

These cookies are necessary in order for us to display the web shop and provide you with essential basic functions, such as the login area, the shopping basket or the payment function. Most cookies are session cookies, which are deleted when the browser is closed. The cookie for the shopping cart content is valid for 48 hours – after that the shopping cart is empty again. In addition, the payment service provider sets a cookie that is valid for two years.

If the cookies are used to log into the customer account and/or to save the shopping basket — also for a later visit to our web shop — the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO / GDPR.

4.3 Data processing for enquiries by e-mail

If you contact us by e-mail as a customer or interested party, you will usually provide us with the following personal data:

– e-mail address

– First and last name

– Telephone number (if applicable)

– Your request

– any documents attached

We process this data in order to answer your enquiry.

We use these data exclusively to process your request. This data processing is regularly based on Art. 6 Para. 1 letter b DSGVO / GDPR.

4.4 Data processing when creating a customer account and placing an order

For the order and the customer account in the shop you deposit your name, the postal address, an e-mail address and a password. We collect this data to fulfil the free user contract and to process your order. The legal basis is therefore Art. 6 Para. lit. b DSGVO / GDPR.

4.5 Data processing during registration of the app

The app requires first and last name, e-mail and password when registering. This is done in order to be able to monitor and allocate the permitted number of licenses per purchase, i.e. for contract fulfilment. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b. DSGVO / GDPR.

4.6 Google Analytics

If you have given your consent, this website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google LLC.

The responsible service provider in the EU is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google").

Only in exceptional cases the full IP address will be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the framework of Google Analytics is not merged with other data from Google.

During your website visit the following data will be collected:
  • the pages you call up, your "click behaviour“

  • Your user behavior (for example clicks, dwell time, bounce rates)

Purposes of processing

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website and to compile reports on website activity. The reports provided by Google Analytics serve to analyse the performance of our website and the success of our marketing campaigns.

Recipient

The data recipient is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland as data processor. For this purpose we have concluded a contract with Google. Google LLC, headquartered in California, USA, and, if applicable, US authorities can access the data stored at Google.

Transfer to third countries

A transfer of data to the USA cannot be excluded.

Duration of storage

The data sent by us and linked to cookies is automatically deleted after 14 months. Data is automatically deleted once a month as soon as the storage period is reached. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by

not giving your consent to the setting of the cookie.

By setting your browser software accordingly you can also prevent the storage of cookies. If your browser is set to refuse all cookies, the functionality of this and other websites may be limited.

4.7 Linkedin insights and conversion tracking

We use the LinkedIn Insight Tag for our websites. The LinkedIn Insight Tag creates a LinkedIn "browser cookie" which collects the following data:

  • IP address
  • Timestamp
  • page activity
  • LinkedIn demographic data if the user is an active LinkedIn member

Using this technology, we can generate reports on the performance of our ads, as well as website interaction information. For this purpose, the LinkedIn Insight tag is embedded on our websites, which establishes a connection to the LinkedIn server if you visit these websites and are logged into your LinkedIn account at the same time.

Purposes of data processing

We process your data to evaluate campaigns and collect information about website visitors who may have reached us through our campaigns on LinkedIn.

legal basis

We process your data because you have consented to this, Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a. DSGVO.

5. Data transfer within the framework of order processing

5.1 Technical assistance contractors

As part of our offer for you, we commission external service providers, such as technical and hosting service providers. These service providers are contractually obliged to comply with the data protection laws. In particular, they are not allowed to use the data for their own purposes or even to pass it on to third parties. These service providers use the data exclusively to support us and work with your data only on our behalf and only on our instructions. We check each service provider beforehand for the measures they have taken for data protection and data security. In this way we ensure the protection of personal data. 6. Deletion periods / duration of storage of your data

6.1 Deletion periods of IP addresses and cookies

The IP address is deleted 24 hours after the page is delivered.

So-called session cookies are deleted when the browser is closed. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period of time, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can view the duration of storage in the cookie section of your browser settings. You can also delete the cookies yourself at any time using the settings of your browser.

6.2 Deletion periods when contacting via e-mail

If you contact us via the contact form or e-mail, we will check at the end of each year whether further storage is necessary or whether there is a duty to retain the e-mails (we also receive enquiries via the contact form as e-mails). Depending on this, further storage or deletion will then take place.

6.3 Deletion periods for the customer account

You can have your customer account deleted at any time by sending an e-mail to support@drverweytcg.com and requesting that the account be deleted. Please note that information on past purchases may have to be kept longer for reasons of commercial law, see section 6.4.
